A group of flight instructors at Iceland Aviation Academy has started a fundraiser through the initiative Mottumars (mustache March) the Icelandic version of Movember. The group started the fundraiser after a recently graduated flight instructor was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Study Iceland officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Keilir Academy in Iceland becoming the official Chinese partner and admissions agent for the school.

In light of ongoing seismic activity on the Reykjanes peninsula, Keilir adminsitrative staff has reviewed and updated evacuation procedures for staff and students. This is done in compliance with the Department of Civil Protection and Emergency Management.

Following media coverage about the quality of water supplies at Ásbrú (Keflavik) the Chief Operating Officer of Keilir Group would like to make the following statement

Programs within Keilir will be conducted through distance learning as possible. The main building will be disinfected daily however guest visits to the building are not allowed.

Due to recent developments regarding COVID-19, all studies at Keilir - where applicable - will move to distance education from Monday 5 October until further notice.

In light of recommendations from The Department of Civil Protection and Emergency Management and in accordance with newly introduced regulations from the Ministry of Education, there will be a mandatory use of face-masks in all school facilities at Keilir Academy from 21 September 2020.

Keilir Aviation Academy and Icelandic Flight School have now merged under the name Iceland Aviation Academy. The school is now one of the market leading flight schools in the Nordic region, with experienced staff, an inspiring flying environment and state-of-the-art aircraft.

Keilir - Icelandic Aviation Academy graduated 78 ATPL students on 12 June 2020. This is the largest single graduating class ever to complete professional pilot program in Iceland. The graduation ceremony took place at Hljomaholl Cultural Center in Reykjanesbær, Iceland.
