Keilir Aviation Academy graduated at total of 23 candidates - 18 professional pilots and five aircraft engineers - on 9 June at Andrews Theater in Keflavik Iceland. A total of 47 professional pilots have thus graduated from Keilir this year.
 
Runar Arnason, Head of Keilir Aviation Academy, presented graduates with their certificates and Pontus Willby gave the commencement speech on behalf of the graduating class. Sigurbergur Ingi Jóhannsson received acknowledgement for best overall achievement with a grade average of 9,44 (out of 10) and received book gifts from Icelandair and WOW air.
 
A total of 175 ATPL students have graduated from the Aviation Academy since the school was established in 2008. The number of pilot students at Keilir Aviation Academy has multiplied over the past few years. To meet the heightened demand and interested, two new Professional Pilot classes began in May and one class will start in August. 
 
Additionally the Academy graduated five Aircraft Engineers in cooperation with AST (Air Service Training) in Scotland. 24 students have graduated from the program in 2017 and 46 in total in two years.
