Apply NOW for Adventure Guide Certificate Program in Iceland

Thompson Rivers University, in cooperation with Keilir Health Academy, offers an eight-month, 30-credit (60 ECTS), university program that takes place in Iceland. The Adventure Guide Certificate program is an introduction to adventure sports and the adventure industry with extensive time spent on field activity courses and compressed, modularized classroom course instruction. This is the ideal program for the ones wishing to explore their career interest in adventure-related fields.

The immersive 30 credit (60 ECTS) Adventure Guide Certificate program structure is thought out to combine the classroom and the natural environment in Iceland to develop a fluent program for you to develop as a future outdoor leader. Leadership, risk management and technical skills are developed within hiking, rock climbing, mountaineering, ski touring and avalanche education, sea kayaking, white water rafting, white water kayaking and swift water rescue. The classroom courses are based on online and on-site sessions at Keilir and include courses in the following subjects, Leadership, Natural environment, Expedition planning and The Adventure Tourism Industry.

Graduates of the Adventure Guide Certificate have diverse job opportunities in the field of the growing tourism industry and can also continue their adventure studies at Thompson River University towards Adventure Guide Diploma, Adventure Management Diploma or BS in Adventure Tourism Management.
