The first group of Icelandair Cadet students began their studies at Keilir Aviation Academy Friday 17 November 2017. Of the 26 students that commenced their studies in November, twenty were accepted in the cadet program.

Like previous years there is a rapid increase in the number of pilot students at Keilir Aviation Academy in Iceland. The school has received sixty applications for the 28 available places available for our next Integrated Professional Pilot Program course, two months prior to study start in January 2018.

Icelandair - in cooperation with Keilir Aviation Academy - will offer a Professional Integrated Cadet Program, offering students professional and financial support for parts of the program. Additionally approved applicants that start the program will receive a priority status when applying for future work at Icelandair.

Keilir Aviation Academy graduated at total of 23 candidates - 18 professional pilots and five aircraft engineers - on 9 June at Andrews Theater in Keflavik Iceland. A total of 47 professional pilots have thus graduated from Keilir this year.

Sandra Kristjansdottir graduated from the first Integrated Professional Pilot Program class at Keilir in 2016. She completed her second training flight to Copenhagen last week with the captain Snorri Pall Snorrason, Head of Training at Keilir Aviation Academy.
