Keilir Aviation Academy participates in EEA project with training centre in Kaunas

Keilir Aviation Academy and Kaunas technical vocational training centre participate in an EEA Project on the development of education and vocational training of aircraft mechanics.

The project is called "Competence development of vocational training employees of Lithuania and Iceland in the sphere of aircraft mechanics" and runs 13 April 2016 – 30 September 2016.

Project aim: To improve cooperation between vocational training employees of the Republic of Lithuania and the Republic of Iceland in the field of aircraft repair, improving their competences and enhancing professional skills.

Project goals:

  1. To share the accumulated knowledge between the educational institutions of the Republic of Lithuania and the Republic of Iceland;
  2. To carry out the analysis of the current situation and develop the manuals of good practice.

Project partners: Keilir Aviation Academy (Iceland), Kaunas technical vocational training centre and JSC FL Technics (Lithuania) 

The main Project activities:

  1. There will be two introductory meetings of Project promoters and participants (11 project representatives from Lithuania will go to Iceland, 4 representatives from Iceland will come to Lithuania);
  2. There will be two internships of the Project team members (6 representatives from Lithuania will go to Iceland, 3 representatives from Iceland will come to Lithuania);
  3. Manual of good practice in the Lithuanian and Icelandic languages will be developed;
  4. Two scientific articles about aircraft repairing will be prepared.

Project publicity:

  1. Two publicity events will be organized during the Project implementation period;
  2. Information about the Project will be published on the websites;
  3. Information posters will be published.

Project continuity:

  • PI Kaunas mechanical school for at least five years after the implementation of the project will carry out its activities and use benefits of  the project results.
  • The accumulated knowledge will be adopted in formal and non-formal education, in the partner‘s and the applicant's training programs.
