Keilir Aviation Academy graduated 14 students from ATPL and Integrated Professional Pilot Program on 8 June at Andrews Theater in Reykjanesbær, bringing the number of graduates in 2018 to a total of 42 students.
Runar Arnason, Accounting Manager of KAA presented graduates with their certificates. Hjörtur Ólafsson received acknowledgement for best overall achievement with a grade average of 9,55 (out of 10). He received a book from Icelandair and gift certificate from WOW air. Telma Rut Frímannsdóttir gave commencement speach on behalf of the class of professional pilot students.
A total of 216 professional pilot students have now graduated from Keilir Aviation Academy since the school was established in 2008 as well as numerous private pilots. The number of ATPL students at Keilir Aviation Academy has multiplied over the past few years. To meet the increased demand and interest the Academy purchased four new Diamond DA40 training aircraft this year bringing the total number of aircraft at the flight school to a total of fourteen. Keilir now operates one of the most sophisticated fleet of Diamond training aircraft in Europe which includes DA20, DA40 and DA42 aircraft, as well as a full motion Redbird MCX flight simulator for pilot training. In addition Keilir has purchased a brand new Diamond DA42 Flight Simulator which will greatly enhance opportunities and training possibilities at the school.
Currently over two hundred pilot students are enrolled in professional pilot programs at Keilir Aviation Academy, a number that has grown exponentially over the past few years.
