Spennandi og nýstárlegt háskólanám í tölvuleikjagerð

Keilir býður upp á námsbraut í tölvuleikjagerð á háskólastigi í samstarfi við norska skólann Noroff - School of technology and digital media. Um er að ræða BSc gráðu sem er tekin á þremur árum í fjarnámi með staðlotum hjá Keili á Ásbrú í Reykjanesbæ. 

  • BSc gráða í gagvirkri miðlun - Tölvuleikjagerð

    Námið (Bachelor in Interactive Media - Games) leggur áherslu á hönnun og þróun leikja og undirbýr nemendur fyrir fjölbreytt störf leikjagerðarfólks. Markmiðið er að nemandinn öðlist faglegt forskot og fái innsýn í hlutverk leikjagerðar í afþreyingariðnaði og skapandi greinum.

  • Fyrirkomulag námsins

    Skólinn stillir upp vikulegri námsáætlun sem nemendur fylgja og er námið því samspil sjálfstæðra vinnubragða og samskipta við kennara og aðra nemendur. Fjarnámið veitir þannig nemendum aðgang að efnisríku námsefni, kennslumyndböndum og æfingum, auk raunhæfra verkefna sem öll tengjast atvinnulífinu. Uppbygging fjarnámsins er á þá vegu að nemendur og kennarar eru í miklum samskiptum sín á milli í gegnum fjarnámskerfið. 

    Nemendur hafa aðgang að sérfræðingi (tutor) á netinu alla daga. Auk þess munu íslenskir nemendur fá ráðgjöf og aðstoð hjá Keili. Námið er kennt á ensku.

  • Um Noroff skólann

    Noroff er norskur háskóli viðurkenndur af norska menntamálaráðuneytinu. Markmið skólans er að bjóða nemendum upp á hágæðanám sem nýtist þeim í starfi og færir þeim samkeppnishæf laun. Við skólann starfar einvalalið alþjóðlegra kennara sem býr yfir mikilli þekkingu og reynslu, og eru allar námsbrautir skólans  þróaðar í nánu samstarfi við fyrirtæki í viðeigandi atvinnugreinum. Námið fer fram á ensku og er viðurkennt af Lánasjóði íslenskra námsmanna.

  • Becoming a Game Designer

    The bachelor in interactive media design focuses on entertainment technologies and creative industries. The education you learn through the interactive media degree program can be used in several areas, including interface and interaction design, digital games and animation.

    The program will provide the student with a working knowledge of the digital entertainment systems required by the mainstream and independent industries. After you complete the bachelor program you will be able to work in the gaming and animation industry.

    The bachelor program provides the student with a broad overview of future professional opportunities. You will be able to design user-friendly interfaces and interactions of digital games. You will create animations and motion graphics for games and movies along with working with character design and game world environments.

    You learn to develop creative content for multiple platforms, including computers, consoles, mobile phones and tablets. There are also lessons in the use of motion capture studio, 3D scanners, 3D printers, Oculus Rift and other technologies.

    Students will also learn how to develop a concept, from initial design to finished product. They do this by combining traditional design skills and creative processes with cutting-edge technologies, focusing on the area of study to highlight creative skills.

  • Program Structure

    During the first year of study, students will explore the theoretical foundation of visual culture. They will learn important characteristics of animation such as: coding, scripting, communication skills and software knowledge.

    The second year focuses more in depth with the methods and procedures used to crate environments and industries used in gaming. Students will improve their abilities to create and develop innovative interactions between characters and environment.

    During the final year of study, students explore new trends in games and animation. The student will become component within interactive scripting, game design, and interface and interaction design. The final goal is to prepare the student for entrepreneurship along with producing a portfolio which will be used during their job search.

  • Job Opportunities

    After the study you will have broad expertise in interactive entertainment systems and motion graphics. You will be suitable for work in interactive scripting, game design, game development, illustration, game testing, game production, 2D and 3D teaching, visual teaching, distance learning, and multimedia design.

    The program provides the skills to work in the gaming and animation industry, but also to create a separate institution or prepare a business strategy for a game or animation company.
